INDEPENDENCE

Glenn Beck has a slogan he wants us to pass around:

Not racist.
Not violent.
No longer silent.

I think that he's hit it right on the head. This describes me and I think most that think like me to the core. However, those that would take our freedom and destroy the Constitution need to understand something. Don't mistake our peaceful ways and prayers for weakness and lack of resolve. Just because we don't want to take up arms doesn't mean we won't. And if we do, God help you. Because when Americans take up arms they don't put them down until the fight is over and the bad guys are dead.

And don't think that you've got the military and police on your side, either. They know us and we know them. We're brothers and sisters in the American family and we never turn on our own.

So think carefully about the words of Admiral Yamamoto in the poster below. He understood something about the American family that you just don't seem to get.

THE CHICAGO WAY WILL LEAD TO SLAVERY

I've posted the opinion piece below from Business Investors Daily in its entirety because it's important that Americans here about this. Glenn Beck put the evidence of this massive scam together on his show and since then there has been almost no coverage of it by any media outlet. Why?

Our government is no longer "government of the people, by the people, for the people" but instead has become the vehicle that is used by those with power and wealth to acquire more of the same. We are taxed and enslaved by a system that benefits the few at the expense of the many. We are forced, under threat of law, to labor for the gain of others and a system that has become so corrupt it has nearly lost its legitimacy.


"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. These words of Jefferson's, filled with power and truth, are once again sounding across the land. The majority of Americans want their country back. We don't want "fundamental change" to the Constitution or our representative style of government; we certainly don't want the Marxist Utopia that our current political leadership seems to admire.

There is a battle looming ahead of us. While most Americans would like to see a peaceful return to the country we love and the Constitutional ideals we venerate, the forces of Marxism will create chaos and destruction, hoping to drive us into the arms of a dictator that promises peace and security.

The forces of Marxism will not go quietly into the night. We have to understand what is ahead of us and prepare for battle. Prepare with peace in our hearts and prayer on our tongues, always intending to cause no harm to others. We have to try, as we have with the peaceful Tea Party protests, to avoid violence and hate. There will be plenty of that from our enemies. When the history of this struggle is written let it be said that we fought with honor and restraint; that all avenues of peaceful resistance were exhausted before we raised our arms, if that is what must do in the end.

As we begin to see violence in the streets and attacks against our property we will naturally be tempted to respond in kind. That would play into the hands of our enemies. With the media on their side any violent response from those that stand for the Constitution will be used against us. Somehow, we've got to restrain ourselves to give those that haven't paid attention time to understand which side is in the right. If we can show peace in the face of terror we will win the P.R. battle in the long run. Winning that battle will win us the war.

The forces of darkness are gathering against us in our nation's capital and our government. The corruption, the "Chicago Way", is in control. We are going to have to, in the words of Thomas Jefferson, "throw off" this evil if we are to survive as a nation.

Pray that we survive as a free people and that we can weather the coming storm.


"While senators froth over Goldman Sachs and derivatives, a climate trading scheme being run out of the Chicago Climate Exchange would make Bernie Madoff blush. Its trail leads to the White House.

Lost in the recent headlines was Al Gore's appearance Monday in Denver at the annual meeting of the Council of Foundations, an association of the nation's philanthropic leaders.

"Time's running out (on climate change)," Gore told them. "We have to get our act together. You have a unique role in getting our act together."

Gore was right that foundations will play a key role in keeping the climate scam alive as evidence of outright climate fraud grows, just as they were critical in the beginning when the Joyce Foundation in 2000 and 2001 provided the seed money to start the Chicago Climate Exchange. It started trading in 2003, and what it trades is, essentially, air. More specifically perhaps, hot air.

The Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) advertises itself as "North America's only cap-and-trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide." Barack Obama served on the board of the Joyce Foundation from 1994 to 2002 when the CCX startup grants were issued. As president, pushing cap-and-trade is one of his highest priorities. Now isn't that special?

Few Americans have heard of either entity. The Joyce Foundation was originally the financial nest egg of a widow whose family had made millions in the now out-of-favor lumber industry.

After her death, the foundation was run by philanthropists who increasingly dedicated their giving to liberal causes, including gun control, environmentalism and school changes.

Currently, CCX members agree to a voluntary but legally binding agreement to regulate greenhouse gases.

The CCX provides the mechanism in trading the very pollution permits and carbon offsets the administration's cap-and-trade proposals would impose by government mandate.

Thanks to Fox News' Glenn Beck, we have learned a lot about CCX, not the least of which is that its founder, Richard Sandor, says he knew Obama well back in the day when the Joyce Foundation awarded money to the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, where Sandor was a research professor.

Sandor estimates that climate trading could be "a $10 trillion dollar market." It could very well be, if cap-and-trade measures like Waxman-Markey and Kerry-Boxer are signed into law, making energy prices skyrocket, and as companies buy and sell permits to emit those six "greenhouse" gases.

So lucrative does this market appear, it attracted the attention of London-based Generation Investment Management, which purchased a stake in CCX and is now the fifth-largest shareholder.

As we noted last year, Gore is co-founder of Generation Investment Management, which sells carbon offsets of dubious value that let rich polluters continue to pollute with a clear conscience.

Other founders include former Goldman Sachs partner David Blood, as well as Mark Ferguson and Peter Harris, also of Goldman Sachs. In 2006, CCX received a big boost when another investor bought a 10% stake on the prospect of making a great deal of money for itself. That investor was Goldman Sachs, now under the gun for selling financial instruments it knew were doomed to fail.

The actual mechanism for trading on the exchange was purchased and patented by none other than Franklin Raines, who was CEO of Fannie Mae at the time.

Raines profited handsomely to the tune of some $90 million by buying and bundling bad mortgages that led to the collapse of the American economy. His interest in climate trading is curious until one realizes cap-and-trade would make housing costlier as well.

Amazingly, none of these facts came up at Senate hearings on Goldman Sachs' activities, which may be nothing more than Ross Perot's famous "gorilla dust," meant to distract us from the real issues.

The climate trading scheme being stitched together here will do more damage than Goldman Sachs, AIG and Fannie Mae combined. But it will bring power and money to its architects."

I APOLOGIZE AHEAD OF TIME

"It’s bad enough that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is giving short shrift to American manufacturers and our economy by ordering extravagant new crystal stemware from Sweden to make the crystal cabinets in America’s embassies sparkle impressively, but now we learn that Barack Obama has told the U.S. relief forces in Haiti not to fly the U.S. flag over its own military compounds. He says that it will “send the wrong message.”

Never mind that all the other nations have their flags proudly flying above their military relief installations in Haiti. Even Croatia has its coat of arms flying outside its base. Yet not the U.S. Army. No U.S. flag flies anywhere despite that we are far and away the largest force and have supplied the most relief supplies and money to the earthquake recovery effort."

"The many nations helping Haiti recover from the devastating earthquake that struck there have set up their own military compounds and fly their flags at the entrances.

France's tricolor, Britain's Union Jack and even Croatia's coat of arms flap in the breeze.

But the country whose contributions dwarf the rest of the world's — the United States — has no flag at its main installation near the Port-au-Prince airport.

The lack of the Stars and Stripes does not sit well with some veterans and servicemembers who say the U.S. government should be proud to fly the flag in Haiti, given the amount of money and manpower the U.S. is donating to help the country recover from the Jan. 12 quake.

The Obama administration says flying the flag could give Haiti the wrong idea.

"We are not here as an occupation force, but as an international partner committed to supporting the government of Haiti on the road to recovery," the U.S. government's Haiti Joint Information Center said in response to a query about the flag."

Pardon me for a moment, but I've run out of patience and words. F*** YOU Mr. Obama. F***YOU and your Communist ideas. F*** YOU and your Communist agenda. F*** YOU and all your "New World Order" globalist beliefs. F*** YOU and your complete disrespect for the flag of the country you swore to protect. F*** YOU and your lack of appreciation for the sacrifice of those that died to protect that flag. F*** YOU Mr. Obama. You've done more to destroy the freedom fought for by Americans over the last 230 years than any other man to hold the office of President. Lincoln, Roosevelt (both of them) and Wilson pale in comparison.

Please God, I beg you. End this travesty and give us our country back. We're sorry for the things we've done to offend you and if we can get past this assault on our human rights we'll do our best to serve you. We've held our freedom lightly and now we will reap the results. We'll accept our penance and do our best to live up to the great grace you've given us, which we have tossed away. But please, give us back our freedom!

ARCHBISHOP CHAPUT AND THE TRUTH

From Archbishop Chaput's Address to Houston Baptist University:

"I'm here as a Catholic Christian and an American citizen – in that order. Both of these identities are important. They don't need to conflict. They are not, however, the same thing. And they do not have the same weight. I love my country. I revere the genius of its founding documents and its public institutions. But no nation, not even the one I love, has a right to my allegiance, or my silence, in matters that belong to God or that undermine the dignity of the human persons He created."

This is the most frightening thing a statist of either political stripe can hear. If a person gives his allegiance to the truth ahead of anyone or anything else they cannot be controlled. To the left this means that the person will resist the nanny state security blanket meant not to create security for the individual but to give power to the few. To the right this means that the person will resist the ultra nationalism used to justify endless war making designed to enslave and kill the many while creating massive profits for the few.

True freedom can only come from God. Everything else is a lie; a lie created by the father of lies, Satan. And to accept as truth that any country or ideology deserves your allegiance ahead of God himself makes you a child of the lie for: "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and he stood not in the truth; because truth is not in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof." (John 8:44)

As I look at America today I see a country living a lie. We believe we can spend on every social program imaginable, regardless of whether we have the money or not, in search of "social justice". We believe we are justified in invading foreign countries, not because they have attacked us, but to bring democracy to the oppressed. We believe Sundays were made for shopping, not for church. We believe true happiness lies in technology and science, not in the truth itself.

We've lost our way because we've lost our goal; to know God, to love Him and to serve Him. Everything else descends from there. We've lost our way because we've lost our soul; we've replaced God with self.

INTIMIDATION, CHOICES AND OUR MORAL OBLIGATION

"The U.S. Supreme Court has said it will hear a case concerning whether the Washington Secretary of State may release the names and addresses of the more than 138,000 people who signed a pro-marriage petition in the state...

...Proponents of Ref. 71 have said that the availability of personal information on the internet has led to the “harassment and intimidation” of those who support traditional marriage. A press release said supporters have been subject to death threats, physical violence, and property damage because of laws requiring the publication of the information on the internet...

...“No citizen should ever worry that they will be threatened or injured because they have exercised their right to engage in the political process.”

Bopp argued that the First Amendment protects citizens from being required to disclose their identity when they are engaged in political speech. He noted that the Supreme Court stayed the release of the names in 2009, saying this indicated the high court recognizes the importance of the case."

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I suppose that one can make the argument that the First Amendment somehow makes it illegal for a state to release the names of those that sign a petition because fear could be used to abridge or prohibit speech. Of course, even in light of the Fourteenth Amendment one has to wonder how this can be applied to a Secretary of State in Washington since the First Amendment clearly identifies the United States Congress as its intended object.

I support states rights and the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution. I also have to be consistent in my beliefs. This is a state issue. If the citizens of Washington disagree with the actions of their Secretary of State then they need to handle this themselves.

Every time we run to the SCOTUS we open the door to more Federal interference in our lives. SCOTUS has vastly overstepped its Constitutional limitations time and time again by legislating from the bench. When we refuse to fight our fights at the state level and instead run to SCOTUS we allow our sovereignty to be eroded even further. We need to keep our family problems in the family; don't allow outsiders in.

Something else needs to be addressed here. I understand that Washington is releasing these names in an attempt to silence those the state disagrees with. The state will use the threat of terror to control you. And this is just the beginning.

If we believe that something is true then we have a moral obligation to stand up for it. The problem is that the obligation comes with no guarantee. We can and most likely will expose ourselves to scorn, ridicule and increasingly real danger by standing up. This is just a fact. If you don't believe me, just read the news. Our governments expect us to go along with the program and be quiet. Even Joe Lieberman, who as a Senator has a lot more power than most of us, saw his wife attacked after his half-assed objection to health control. The people at the top are playing for keeps.

Of course, this has always been the case. We have been lulled into complacency over the last 30 years or so of relative stability in our country. Vietnam was the last time we saw any sort of major social unrest and it wasn't really that bad, at least compared to revolution. Most weren't asked to take a public stand on the issue of the war and so we could all watch it from afar. Things are different this time.

Thomas Payne said, "These are the times that try mens's souls." We've heard this quote a million times. But think about what it means. We are entering a time like the revolution when you will have to choose sides. That choice will come at a price; your soul will be tried. This is because the results of your choice will have real consequence. Pick the wrong side and you may not get a job or you may be ostracized by your friends and family. You may lose your possessions, possibly your freedom and maybe your life. Choices of this magnitude require real soul searching. You need to understand what you believe and why. And, you need to think this through now so that when the choice is offered you have your reply ready.

You also need to make sure that those around you understand why you believe what you do. It is quite possible for your beliefs to cause separation from family and friends. They need to understand why you are doing what you do, just in case you come up missing. I know this sounds crazy but it's not. Just look to Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union or any number of other dictatorships. This still happens around the world all the time and could happen here, too.

The fact that the people of Washington feel so intimidated by the release of their names causes me some trepidation. If the American people are so weak that this minor threat could cause them to remain silent then we have lost the war before the first battle is over. Americans need to begin the soul searching process now. They need to determine just how far is far enough and they need to be willing to take a stand. If we won't stand strong in the face of the coming storm we will be swallowed by the waves of totalitarianism. By our silence we will have written our obituary. If we refuse to stand slavery is our destiny and the chosen conclusion of the American experiment. We will have proven ourselves unworthy of the freedom we have tossed away.

BROWN WINS, REPUBLICANS POP THE CORKS AND I JUST CAN'T GET EXCITED

I'm listening to the news this morning and all of the Republicans are just besides themselves with excitement. I guess, if you are a Republican this may feel like some sort of victory. But, if you're a libertarian like me, you might be feeling more like maybe you've won an opening skirmish in a much larger war that is not in anyway decisive.

It looks like the election of Brown to the Senate seat from Massachusetts may slow down the freight train of socialism but it wasn't stopped, much less reversed. Government will continue to grow in size and power. Brown can't stop it and furthermore I've not heard him say anything that would lead me to believe he intends to. Sure, he's mouthed the expected Republican Reaganisms of lower taxes and more opportunity. So what?

Reagan did reduce taxes and that reduction did spur economic growth. I'm not going to argue that point. But, because Reagan didn't shrink the size and power of the government the gains made economically in the end meant nothing. What does money mean without freedom? And because those economic gains were the end result of government manipulation of the markets through the tax code only the connected benefitted. The middle class in America has seen a collapse of earning power that has been unabated since the early 70's. The Republicans, even St. Ronald, have done nothing to reduce the size of government. It has grown under them just as it has under the Democrats. And our freedom has been steadily diminished under both parties.

The election of Brown may serve the immediate purpose of slowing the rush to socialist slavery but it has not really changed anything of substance. Both parties will continue to drag power to the central government in complete disregard for the Constitution and the wishes of the majority of the people.

From the battle at the Concord Bridge to last nights election Massachusetts has been the starting point for long and costly wars. The question is, do we have the courage and the resolve of our Revolutionary forefathers? Only time will tell.

A BILLBOARD THAT POINTS THE WAY TO WAR - AND THE END OF AMERICA


I’ve been thinking about this billboard since I posted an article about it the other day. I went on a search to see what sort of reactions it was generating. Most of what I saw was on liberal/progressive websites. The reactions were predictable. The people that erected the sign were: haters, cowards, scumbags, liars, trying to stir up trouble and on and on. This got me to thinking about the gulf that separates the conservative/libertarian worldview from that of the liberal/progressive.

I got to the end of my thought process by starting with a movie; “Shenandoah” starring Jimmy Stewart. If you’ll remember, Stewart’s character was a farmer in the Shenandoah Valley during the Civil War. He has sons of fighting age that wanted to sign up to fight. He wouldn’t let them because he didn’t believe the war concerned him.

You see, the questions of slavery and states right weren’t of any concern to him. In his view, his job on this earth was to raise his family and his crops. He asked nothing of the government so he felt that they had no claim on him. His intent was to stay out of the way and do his job and fulfill his duty to his God and family.

His sons didn’t understand this. They were of an age where hormones easily outrun intelligence. I’m sure many of his neighbors resented this as they had sons that were dying in the war. The military tried to take his sons though impressment but he turned them away. I’m sure that he was called all the names that are being tossed around today by those on the left.

But the war couldn’t be avoided. Eventually Stewart is forced to engage, to pick up a gun to defend his family. When the time comes, and the war becomes his business, he carries out his duty with iron willed resolve.

This attitude of self reliance and the desire to be left alone runs strongly in much of America: especially in rural areas and among people that work with their hands. I realize that I may be making broad generalizations, but I’m going to do it anyway. Most of the people that I have met in my life that have strong progressive beliefs tend to be from urban areas.

Progressives have a mindset that is ingrained in them through experience, just as we all do. Living in an urban environment they learn that there is a system of support in place for almost any problem you may have. You just need to fill out the proper paperwork and submit it to the right people. The police are nearby to help you, somebody takes your trash and the diner’s always open if you need something to eat. The price of this convenience is a loss of liberty and a certain level of dependency for your existence.

The other thing that I’ve noticed about city people is that they learn to complain about every damn little thing. My guess is that this is because the system that they depend on for their day to day life doesn’t work as well as advertised. They are always forced to deal with some disinterested government employee just to get something done, waiting on the phone or in line for something that if they could do it themselves, would be just a minor inconvenience. So people in the city learn to yell. They learn that the squeaky wheel does get the grease and that grease is absolutely essential to their lives.

City people become used to government. Worse, they become absolutely dependent on it. It becomes just so much background noise, part of the normal activity of their lives. They view government as a necessary evil, can’t live with it, can’t live without it. The fact is, they have forgotten how to be self sufficient because government has enslaved them. They’ve been conditioned to believe that it is perfectly normal to pay taxes to a government to supply services to you that you could supply yourself at a cheaper price. They think nothing of intrusive government regulation of their lives because look at all the government does for them. The live a life that a large percentage of America can never understand.

Like I said, I’m speaking in broad generalizations. I realize that there are plenty of conservatives in the city. I’d go as far as to say that there are more conservatives in the city than there are liberals in the country. A lot more.

By and large, rural people are a lot more like Jimmy Stewart’s character. We are fairly self sufficient and don’t look to others for help. When we do, it’ll be our neighbors, not some government. As a matter of fact, governments in rural areas don’t generally have the capability to help anybody. Even our fire dept. is made up of volunteers.

The most contact rural people have with government is getting plates on the truck and paying our taxes. Farmers get a bit more because the Federal Government gets involved in their lives but even that is sporadic. We know that if we have a problem we are going to have to fix it. Sewer problem? I own the septic system, I’m responsible for it. Water problem? Same thing; I own the well. If the electric goes out, well I’ll call the electric company but I better have a generator because I’ve been without power for a week. If I don’t have a generator, I’ll sit in the dark. Nobody is going to put up a shelter for me.

All this writing just to get back to that billboard; I’d damned near forgotten about it.

That billboard and where it was erected got me to thinking about the rural mindset, self sufficiency and guns. I wrote a couple days ago that the sign and in particular, its location, were a clear indication of just how close this country is to a cataclysmic event.

One thing about growing up in a rural area is that you grow up with guns. Now, this is true in the city also; I realize that. But it’s different in the country. Kids carry guns out here to hunt and plink. I grew up in a part of St. Louis County that when I was a kid was still mostly farms. We didn’t leave the house without a BB gun and as we got older, .22’s. Even when the police would see us nobody cared. It was just part of life. It’s the same where I live now.

OK, I’m getting back to the billboard. I got to thinking about the attitudes and understandings of those on the left and those on the right. People called the person that erected the billboard all kinds of names. This is understandable from the viewpoint of a progressive. They’ve been conditioned to yell, scream and complain to get things done. It is an acceptable and normal mode of behavior.

Out in the country, we’re a bit more laid back. We would rather ask politely and see if we can’t get a problem resolved. Treat each other with respect; because it’s the right thing to do. That and who wants to get into a fight. You call someone out here all kinds of names and you’re likely to get rocked back on your heels. You see, we believe that there are consequences to your actions. We may tolerate poor behavior for a long time because most of us would rather just live and let live. But make no mistake, when you finally cross the line there will be no hesitation.

This brings me back to the billboard; and guns. One of the rules that you learn growing up with guns is that you never, ever point a gun at something you are not willing to shoot. Taken a step further, never point a gun at someone unless you are willing to kill them. Being around guns teaches you deliberation in your acts, just like the threat of getting punched for shooting off your mouth.

I think that the left is badly misreading what that billboard signifies. They view it as a sign of cowardice. They think that because we aren’t screaming, that because the TEA Parties are without incident and because we don’t vandalize buildings we have no resolve. We are cowards that in the end will not stand up to their big government power grab.

They are mistaking deliberation for a lack of resolve and calling it cowardice. They don’t understand that if you keep yelling and screaming, calling us names and insulting our sense of patriotism, somebody will get punched.

But what they are really missing and what I am afraid the sign is signifying is an undercurrent of real unrest and dissatisfaction with the government. I am afraid that we are about to jump right over the punching part of the dance. We have tried everything that we can for redress of our grievances. We have petitioned and we have marched. We’ve made phone calls and we’ve written letters. Yet, I believe the Health Bill will pass. The Congress will act against the will of the American people and the President will sign the bill.

Maybe it won’t be Health Care. Maybe it’s Cap and Trade or EPA regulation or some other decree from on high. But some invisible line is about to be crossed; and when it is all Hell will break lose.

The left is so sure of the cowardice of the American people that they don’t see it coming. But come it will. Americans will take up their arms. It will be a deliberate and resolved act of revolution. The guns will not be taken up lightly but with full recognition of what the action means. There will be no turning back. All or nothing; “Give me liberty or give me death.”

The progressives are trying to box us in because they don’t believe we’ll stand up. This is a serious miscalculation that in the end stands a high probability of being the cause of the end of America. The talk I hear from people that I run into is that we have few options left. Most are armed and have given thought to the very real possibility of rising up. Militias are being formed. Everyone I talk to is of the opinion that if we are going to lose our freedom anyway we might as well go down with a fight.

That is what the billboard is saying. Because the media is mostly urban they won’t be able to read it. Because the progressives are arrogant and convinced of their own righteousness they won’t be bothered to look. But there it is. A clear, stark signal of what lies right around the corner.

Pray for guidance and protection. Look to your family’s safety. READ THE DAMNED SIGN!
