PRO-LIFE THEOLOGIAN APPOINTED TO CCHD

The very fact that this is news says an awful lot about the current state of affairs over at the CCHD.

"Fr. Daniel Mindling, OFM, Cap., will serve as the new consulting theologian for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. The move comes in response to a review of the campaign, whose choices of grantees have been criticized.

The priest is an academic dean and professor of moral theology at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He is presently a consultant to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities and the Task Force on Catholic Health Care."
Catholic News Agency

This is a welcome development, as long as his appointment is meant to change the direction of the Campaign and not just window dressing to curry the favor of the parishioners.

I don't know anything about Father Mindling but I did find an interesting interview with him at
The Pew Forum. At the very least he's an articulate defender of the Church's position on abortion.

I hope and pray that Father Mindling can have some affect on the CCHD and its proclivity towards Progressivism. He is currently a consultant to the USCCB on pro-life issues so he isn't, most likely, part of the inner circle.

God speed, Father!

HOUSING PRICES CONTINUE TO COLLAPSE - DOUBLE DIP UNDER WAY

As the price of commodities continue to rise the value of our assets plummet. Nowhere is this more obvious that in the value of homes. As more and more people, pushed to the edge by unemployment and underemployment continue to just walk away from their homes over this coming winter this devaluation will accelerate.

As the cost of basic needs such as food and fuel go up and up and we are forced to make a choice between paying a mortgage on an underwater home loan or feeding our families the family will win out and the banks will lose. This is just plain common sense. Housing prices will continue to fall and the pace of the fall will accelerate causing more to just walk away, creating a self feeding death spiral.

We're moving into the next stage of the collapse of America yet so many refuse to recognize it's even begun. I know people that are going on cruises and buying new cars while at the same time I know people that can't afford to pay for basic needs. Many that are fortunate to still have decent jobs are blind to the reality that surrounds them.

Those of us that are fortunate enough to have been, for lack of a better term, eased into the new reality have had a chance, and hopefully we've taken it, to reorganize and re-prioritize our lives. We're, more or less, ready for what's coming. As ready as we can be anyway for a societal collapse. The majority, however, aren't.

Brace yourself, especially if you live in a highly populated area, for civil unrest like we've rarely seem in America.

Pray, pray, pray.

"Zillow just released a devastating third quarter housing report. Basically every major indicator is crashing:

The decline in home values accelerated in September, dropping 0.4% month-over-month

Foreclosures reached an all-time high

A record 23.2% of mortgages are now underwater

The double dip -- already a rare phenomenon -- is now entering an unprecedented free-fall.

Zillow economist Stan Humphries says prices won't hit bottom until next summer at the earliest, as foreclosure activity grows.

Humphries warns: “While not unexpected, the unceasing declines in home values signal that we’re in for a long, bleak winter of continued troubles for the housing market. The length and depth of the current housing recession is rivaling the Great Depression’s real estate downturn, and, with encouraging signs fading, will easily eclipse it in the coming months."

HOW TO TELL IF A HARLEY IS BUILT IN INDIA

Thanks to my wife's old college room mate, and my friend, Laura for this one.

HERE WE GO AGAIN - REAL CATHOLIC TV ON THE NEXT ROUND WITH THE USCCB

A couple days ago I posted about this same issue. I received an e-mail from Reform CCHD Now about the CIW and their connections to pro abort groups. There was an excerpt from the USCCB document discussed in this video that listed three other groups along with CIW that the Bishops held in high esteem and presented as shining examples of the kind of groups the CCHD supported.

It occurred to me that it would be interesting to take these other groups, do a bit of research and see how long it would take me to find some linkage back to radical groups or philosophies that undermine Church teaching. If you will go to that article you'll see it didn't take long at all.

So, if a guy sitting in a house out in the woods using an antiquated computer can establish these links in under a half hour, why can't the USCCB?

The answer of course is that they can and they are well aware of them. The problem for the USCCB is that these groups represent the true beliefs of the people in charge of this organization. And all of these leftist organizations are joined in a web of lies so complete that they cannot hide their true nature. As long as the leadership at the USCCB insists on playing in this cesspool they will be stained by it.

If they are to completely separate themselves from this evil they will have to do exactly that, completely separate from, expose and disavow these organizations and the evil that undergird them. But they won't do that because this is what they believe, deep down in their core, right to the marrow of their bones. Church teaching and the will of God be damned!

This cancer is so well entrenched that only surgery and complete removal will stand any chance of returning the Church in America to health. No matter how much we stand against this we, the people, can only do so much; we're not surgeons, after all. Only the Vatican has the training, the competence and the authority to end this abuse.

We're waiting!

PRICES UP - PURCHASING POWER DOWN

Here's the deal; assets - dollars, homes, cars and all the other stuff we own, are losing value while commodities, all the things that we need to live, food and fuel most prominent among them are going up.

And the other thing that continues to rise; unemployment.

Put all this together and we have the perfect storm. Less money and much lower net worth combined with massive increases in the prices of the things we absolutely must have to survive will end in riots in the streets. That or a strongman that will lead us into slavery; or perhaps both.

And this is just the beginning.

Buckle up.

"Investors looking for safer places to stow their assets pushed gold to a record price above $1,400 an ounce Monday as they become more worried about the global economy.

A combination of issues have created fresh worry among investors: Ireland's debt difficulties and two key global summits where leaders of major industrial and developing nations are discussing currencies, free trade and ways to help the world economy.

Also in the back of investors' minds is the prospect of inflation stemming the Federal Reserve's multi-billion bond-buying program.

"People are really concerned again and so I think we're seeing safe-haven buying," IG Markets Inc. CEO Dan Cook said."

"Clear Capital released their monthly Home Data Index Report today and it showed continued deterioration in national home prices. Prices are now off -6.8% from their August peak. It looks to me like the housing double dip is here and Ben Bernanke rolled out QE2 just in time to prepare for massive MBS purchases in 2011 when the banks hit another rough patch."

"Oil prices reached two-year high points on Monday before profit-taking pushed them down, while attention was on Nigeria after an oil rig was attacked off the coast of the energy exporting nation.

New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in December, struck 87.49 dollars a barrel -- the highest point since late 2008."

"We are officially in an inflation trade melt-up.

Everything that is an inflation hedge has exploded since late August. Gold is up 15%. Silver is up 48% (courtesy of the manipulators finally getting taken to court). Agricultural commodities are up 25%. Oil is up 20%.

Against this backdrop, stocks’ 17% rally becomes slightly less insane. That’s right, stocks are up 17% since late August. What happened in late August?

The Fed announced QE lite and promised QE 2 was coming. Almost to the day of this announcement, the US Dollar rolled over and dropped some 8% (it’s down nearly 15% since June)."

An inflationary tide is beginning to ripple through America's supermarkets and restaurants, threatening to end the tamest year of food pricing in nearly two decades.

Prices of staples including milk, beef, coffee, cocoa and sugar have risen sharply in recent months. And food makers and retailers including McDonald's Corp., Kellogg Co. and Kroger Co. have begun to signal that they'll try to make consumers shoulder more of the higher costs for ingredients.

For food executives, how quickly to pass along higher costs presents difficult choices. Missteps could be costly when the economy remains weak. Many Americans, nervous about high unemployment, have pledged allegiance to their pennies and are willing to trade down on brands, switch supermarkets, opt for Burger King over Applebee's, or stop dining out altogether to save money.

JESUS LOVES ME - FOR ADULTS

My wife sent me this e-mail and I thought that I'd post it here. I know that everyone doesn't believe as I do, that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is God Himself. So be it.

This simple hymn describes exactly one of the foundational truths that underlies Catholicism and other forms of Christianity; we never walk alone. The problem is that we often forget this.

We'll need to have the faith of children and the wisdom of the ages to face the coming storm. This simple little song helps to put part of the equation in place.

While watching a little TV on Sunday instead of going to church, I watched a church in Atlanta honoring one of its senior pastors who had been retired many years. He was 92 at that time and I wondered why the church even bothered to ask the old gentleman to preach at that age.

After a warm welcome, introduction of this speaker, and as the applause quieted down, he rose from his high back chair and walked slowly, with great effort and a sliding gait to the podium. Without a note or written paper of any kind he placed both hands on the pulpit to steady himself and then quietly and slowly he began to speak.....

"When I was asked to come here today and talk to you, your pastor asked me to tell you what was the greatest lesson ever learned in my 50-odd years of preaching. I thought about it for a few days and boiled it down to just one thing that made the most difference in my life and sustained me through all my trials. The one thing that I could always rely on when tears and heartbreak and pain and fear and sorrow paralyzed me... The only thing that would comfort was this verse........ ....

"Jesus loves me this I know.
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong,
We are weak but He is strong.....
Yes, Jesus loves me.....
The Bible tells me so."

When he finished, the church was quiet.. You actually could hear his foot steps as he shuffled back to his chair. I don't believe I will ever forget it.

A pastor once stated, "I always noticed that it was the adults who chose the children's hymn 'Jesus Loves Me' (for the children of course) during a hymn sing, and it was the adults who sang the loudest because I could see they knew it the best."

"Senior version of Jesus Loves Me"

Here is a new version just for us who have white hair or no hair at all. For us over middle age (or even those almost there) and all you others, check out this newest version of Jesus Loves Me.

JESUS LOVES ME

Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.
(CHORUS)
YES, JESUS LOVES ME.. YES, JESUS LOVES ME..
YES, JESUS LOVES ME, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I'll go
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.
(CHORUS)

When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song....
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."
(CHORUS)

When my work on earth is done,
And life's victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I'll understand His love.
(CHORUS)

I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.
(CHORUS)

If you think this is neat, please pass it on to your friends. If you do not pass it on, nothing bad will happen, but you will have missed an opportunity to "reach out and touch" a friend or a loved one.

God Bless Us All!!!

JUST SAY NO - PEACEFULLY

"People in Weston, Missouri banded together on Saturday. They wanted to protect loved ones who were saying goodbye to a fallen soldier. They stood up to members of the Westboro Baptist Church who planned to protest at Sgt. First Class C.J. Sadell's funeral.

Sadell died October 24 from injuries he suffered in a surprise attack in Afghanistan. On Saturday, there was quite a turnout of people who wanted to keep the protesters away from the funeral.

"I'd say probably half the people in Weston are here," said Eric Moser, Marine Corp veteran.

Weston has less than 2,000 residents, but hundreds of people showed up to support the family of First Sgt. Sadell.

..."We got everybody here early so we could take up all the parking spots," Rooney said ."We did that so Mr. Phelps wouldn't have a contingency that was really close."

Supporters came armed with patriotic music and American flags.

Protesters didn't stick around long once they saw the supporters."

This is how we do it. This is how we put an end to all the B.S. we're seeing today. We just stand up and peacefully refuse to cooperate. We stand in front of evil and make it back down.

Don't do business with the banks that have caused the mortgage problems that threaten to destroy our economy. No credit cards, new loans or bank accounts. Then take it a step further. Don't do business with anyone that works for those banks, especially and maybe particularly with the management. That means don't cut their hair, don't fix their house or their car, don't deliver their paper. You get the idea.

And then apply this to any other group that is causing harm to your community or country. Just say no. Ostracize them; shun them.

The legal system and the politicians don't seem to be willing to do anything to protect the people so the people are going to have to do it themselves. Peacefully and prayerfully but very firmly.

Begin to remove yourself from this corrupt and evil world. Try to live as honestly as possible and only support those things that you believe are good. We must starve the evil out of our lives and our world.
