INCOHERENT RAMBLINGS FROM THE WILDS OF FRANKLIN COUNTY MISSOURI
I am the Lord your God; you shall not have strange gods before me.
You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
Remember to keep holy the Lord's day
Honor your father and your mother.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
The price of milk has risen nearly .50 cents a gallon over the past two weeks, bread up .30 cents a loaf and sugar up almost .50 cents a pound, all since the beginning of the year. It has all the markings of prices way out of reach by summer time.
ReplyDeleteAnd the cost of feed, the underlying cause of much of the increase in everything else, has gone through the roof, too. A few months ago I could buy 50# of chicken feed for around $9. Now it's almost $13. A friend of mine that raises cows to sell for meat is telling me that he doesn't think he's going to be able to stay in business because the cost of feed and fuel is forcing him to raise his prices so much that nobody can afford the cows.
ReplyDeleteYet, nearly everyone I talk to acts as though I'm crazy when I tell them to start stocking up now while it's still affordable.
