Since the start of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption, which caused cancellations of thousands of flights in Europe because of a giant ash cloud, there has been much speculation about neighboring Katla.

An initial research paper by the University College of London Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction said: "Analysis of the seismic energy released around Katla over the last decade or so is interpreted as providing evidence of a rising ... intrusive magma body on the western flank of the volcano."

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS

1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

RACISM REARS ITS POINTY LITTLE HEAD IN FRANKLIN COUNTY, MISSOURI

 

Villa Ridge, where this occurred, is not very far from my house. This crap makes me sick. We don't need it around here.

I've got black families that live all around me, most descended from slaves that were owned by farmers in the area. Their forefathers bought their own farms and stayed here after the war. Pacific, the next town over has a Mayor, Herb Adams, that is one of those descendants. Mostly everybody gets along fine out here. Sure, you hear the occasional remark, something stupid from a white guy about blacks and I'm sure it goes the other way, too. That's just human nature and part of living in a country that is made up of people from around the world.

But we don't need the old days of Klans and hatred to come back. My family had a farm in Stanton, a town about 25 miles from here, 100 years ago and I know the stories that I heard from my grandma about how blacks were treated back then. Of course, my grandma's family was Italian and they had their own problems. My parents have told me about a sign in Eureka, Mo., another town about 15 miles away, years ago when they used to have a clubhouse on the river there, that told the blacks not to be in town after dark. So the lady in the video that talks about not being able to go inside to eat her ice cream in Union (the county seat of Franklin County) when she was a kid doesn't surprise me at all.

The ugly reality is that Missouri was a slave state and many of the old beliefs took a long time to die. But, for the most part they have. Except among the toothless, crack smoking, low life white trash bastards that are a drain on our society. I'm tired of seeing toothless crackheads wandering around our county and causing problems. My guess is that it just these sorts of people or kids that hang with the lowlifes that did this.

I fear that as society comes apart and jobs become scarce the stupid among us will begin to look for someone to blame their misfortune upon. The one place they won't look is in the mirror. The coming storm is going to cause real hardship and suffering for all of us, black and white. We need to work together as a community, using all of the talents that God has distributed among us for the good of us all. We cannot afford to let racist morons get in the way of the common good and our survival.

HAS THE BLOWOUT BEEN STOPPED?

Why can't we get simple yes or no answers about anything anymore? The Coast Guard says it's fixed while BP says it's not. Yes or no, that's all we ask. If they don't know then don't say anything. WTF??!!!!

"Engineers have stopped the flow of oil and gas into the Gulf of Mexico from a gushing BP well, the federal government's top oil-spill commander, U.S. Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, said Thursday morning.

The "top kill" effort, launched Wednesday afternoon by industry and government engineers, had pumped enough drilling fluid to block oil and gas spewing from the well, Allen said. The pressure from the well was very low, he said, but persisting.

Once engineers had reduced the well pressure to zero, they were to begin pumping cement into the hole to entomb the well. To help in that effort, he said, engineers also were pumping some debris into the blowout preventer at the top of the well."

"BP refused to say Thursday morning whether the latest effort to staunch the huge oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico had stopped the flow.

"The operation continues," BP managing director Bob Dudley told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira, but it is "too early to draw conclusions from it."

Dudley did say that "top kill" was "moving the way we wanted to" and that the situation would be clearer later in the day.

"It wouldn’t be reasonable for anybody to draw a conclusion from that until we’ve killed the well for good," he told Vieira."

"Scientists say the Gulf of Mexico spill has now leaked far more oil than the Exxon Valdez disaster — maybe even three-and-a-half times as much.

That makes the Gulf spill by far the worst in U.S. history.

U.S. Geological Survey Director Dr. Marcia McNutt said Thursday that a government task force estimates that anywhere from 500,000 gallons to a million gallons a day has been leaking. BP and the Coast Guard had put the flow at about 210,000 gallons per day.

The new government estimate means at least 19 million gallons and maybe as much as 39 million gallons have leaked in the five weeks since an oil rig exploded and sank. Exxon Valdez spilled about 11 million gallons.

BP is trying to plug the leak and says it has siphoned off about 924,000 gallons."

CONFUSION REIGNS

"The M3 figures - which include broad range of bank accounts and are tracked by British and European monetarists for warning signals about the direction of the US economy a year or so in advance - began shrinking last summer. The pace has since quickened.

The stock of money fell from $14.2 trillion to $13.9 trillion in the three months to April, amounting to an annual rate of contraction of 9.6pc. The assets of insitutional money market funds fell at a 37pc rate, the sharpest drop ever.

"It’s frightening," said Professor Tim Congdon from International Monetary Research. "The plunge in M3 has no precedent since the Great Depression. The dominant reason for this is that regulators across the world are pressing banks to raise capital asset ratios and to shrink their risk assets. This is why the US is not recovering properly," he said.

The US authorities have an entirely different explanation for the failure of stimulus measures to gain full traction. They are opting instead for yet further doses of Keynesian spending, despite warnings from the IMF that the gross public debt of the US will reach 97pc of GDP next year and 110pc by 2015."

"Even articles like the above in the Telegraph are not reporting the full nature of the problem - which is not merely banks being over-regulated and "over-capitalized." The numbers in this case may in fact tell part of the story. The only way debt-based money begins to circulate is if banks (the sacred repositories of central bank fiat money) lend it, but banks simply aren't lending - they are not putting central bank, debt-based money into circulation. But the culprit is not just over-regulation (or even the failure of Keynesian deficit spending), in our humble, opinion - no, not at all.

The real reason that banks STILL aren't lending much may also have to do with the depth and breadth of the downturn. We've written in the past this is no ordinary downturn but a fiat-money blowoff. Western paper currencies, in fact, have all failed at once, including king dollar. They have failed because incessant credit stimulation has so distorted Western economies that even after two years, these economies have not yet returned to a point where banks and other investors can tell the difference between a legitimate opportunity and one that has been kept alive by various forms of governmental chicanery. This is why "stimulus" and "bailouts" are ultimately so counter-productive. They actually retard economic recovery."

Up is down and right is left. It doesn't surprise me that the author for Right Side seems to believe confusion is the root cause for the plunge in money supply. We live in a world that has become increasingly devoid of the truth. Nothing is what it claims to be anymore.

This is another indication that God is backing away from us because we've asked Him to. Order and reason come from God while lies and distortion come from Satan. We now live in a world that is controlled by evil. Economies collapsing, our oceans being destroyed, families ripped apart and countries on fire. Not to mention the rise of the New World Order.

I hope and pray that I'm wrong but I don't believe I am.

I believe we are a generation that will witness signs and wonders from above and it scares the hell out of me. Many of the things that I write and post are not things that I want to say and many times they are things that I find embarrassing to say. Except for a small group that I know most people think that those that see things through the eyes of faith and the teachings of the Church are nuts. It would be a whole lot easier just to go along with them and lose myself in the pleasures of the world.

But that wouldn't be the right thing to do. Maybe I'm wrong and everyone that laughs at those of us that believe as I do are right to do so. I mean really, I write things all the time that put me in the same category as that long haired, stinky guy wandering the streets with a board hanging from his shoulders proclaiming, "The End Is Near!" I get the feeling all the time that what I write or say is just going to make me look like an idiot or start a fight; but I do it anyway because I believe I'm supposed to.

All I ask is that you consider the possibility that I am right and that there is a reason the whole world seems to be coming apart at once. And why there seems to be some sort of evil logic behind it. Because all of this has been prophesied. We've all heard the stories, even if we dismissed them as so much superstitious mumbo-jumbo. We can look around and see all those crazy stories playing out.

Pray, even if you don't believe in God. Ask Him to show Himself to you. I know that it may feel really, really weird to do this if you've never tried but if you have an open heart and are honestly searching for the truth you'll find it. Don't expect explosions and lightning and Charlton Heston; just pray quietly and in earnest.

We live in a time of signs and wonders but above all we live in a time of grace. God wants you back and He will take you anyway He can get you. All you have to do is ask. He'll do the rest.

"Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and you shall find: knock, and it shall be opened to you.

For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

Or what man is there among you, of whom if his son shall ask bread, will he reach him a stone?

If you don't read the Bible or haven't in a long time, read the passage below and then relate it to current times. Think of the many false messiahs in the political world and then think of how many more could arise in the coming collapse, especially the one that could arise as the savior of the New World Order. When Jesus talks about followers being afflicted and put to death, think Christianity and the Catholic Church in particular, think how the abuses of power in the leadership have caused scandal and hatred of the religion. The Gospel will be preached to the whole earth; that has happened because of modern technology. Nation rising against nation, wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes and famine. Many if not most of these things have happened before but I'm hard pressed to find any other time they are all happening so quickly, at the same time and on a global scale. Not to mention the sun and moon darkened and the stars falling from the sky. this sounds an awful lot like the prophecies of the Three Days of Darkness not to mention that speculation surrounding the possibility of a Tenth Planet and its imminent arrival. And let's not forget the potential destruction of our oceans if the blowout in the Gulf isn't stopped.

Some, or maybe all of this sounds crazy and maybe it is. But what does it hurt to think about it and more importantly to pray about it?

PLUG THE DAMN HOLE!

I imagine the administration doesn't believe this is happening since they don't believe radical Islam even exists. Actually, they probably view this report as further evidence of America's racial hatred and racist tendencies.

"The Department of Homeland Security is alerting Texas authorities to be on the lookout for a suspected member of the Somalia-based Al Shabaab terrorist group who might be attempting to travel to the U.S. through Mexico, a security expert who has seen the memo tells FOXNews.com.

The warning follows an indictment unsealed this month in Texas federal court that accuses a Somali man in Texas of running a “large-scale smuggling enterprise” responsible for bringing hundreds of Somalis from Brazil through South America and eventually across the Mexican border. Many of the illegal immigrants, who court records say were given fake IDs, are alleged to have ties to other now-defunct Somalian terror organizations that have merged with active organizations like Al Shabaab, al-Barakat and Al-Ittihad Al-Islami.

In 2008, the U.S. government designated Al Shabaab a terrorist organization. Al Shabaab has said its priority is to impose Sharia, or Islamic law, on Somalia; the group has aligned itself with Al Qaeda and has made statements about its intent to harm the United States."

NOW WE WAIT

Pray this works and turn from sin. I don't care how crazy this sounds to most people but the root cause of this is us. We've turned from God. If, and it's a big if, "Top Kill" works, then treat this as a warning. And remember that even if it works the best case scenario is a big, dead chunk of ocean along with an economy and lives destroyed.

We can't go back to business as usual.

This Reuters report is very encouraging, at least upon first blush...

BP Plc Chief Operating Officer Doug Suttles said on Wednesday it appears drilling mud, not oil, was gushing from a ruptured undersea well six hours into an effort to halt a growing oil spill.

"What you've been observing coming out of the top of that riser is most likely mud," Suttles said at a news conference broadcast from a Louisiana command center. "We can't fully confirm that because we can't sample it. And the way we know we've been successful is it stops flowing."

Indeed, the underwater cam now looks completely different, muddy and not clear, basically.

UPDATE: A spokesperson at Deepwater Horizon Response would not confirm these rumors: "What they're looking for is monitoring that feed and the operation to see if the leak itself stops. At this time it's too early to call whether or not it's been successful."

"BP officials may know by Thursday afternoon whether the oil company's latest attempt to cap the runaway leak in the Gulf of Mexico is yielding results.

"I think we just need to take the next 24 hours and actually see what the results are," said BP Chief Operating Officer Doug Suttles from Robert, Louisiana.

The operation, known as a "top kill," that began Wednesday afternoon was going according to plan, he said, with drilling mud being applied to the well at a rate of up to 65 barrels per minute.
Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mary Landry, the federal on-scene coordinator, was equally reluctant to draw conclusions.

"While we're very encouraged by some aspects of this procedure, I don't want to express optimism until I know for sure that we've secured the well and the leak has stopped," she told reporters.

"If oil stops flowing to the surface in the Gulf of Mexico, BP officials will know that their latest effort to plug a blown-out undersea well off the Louisiana coast was successful.

BP PLC was pumping heavy mud into the leaking well, and executives said Wednesday night that there had been no problems so far. Still, BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward said engineers would not know until at least Thursday afternoon whether the latest remedy was having some success.

"The absence of any news is good news," said Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, who is overseeing the operation. He added: "It's a wait and see game here right now, so far nothing unfavorable."
