"Republicans are mapping an agenda for the new Congress that calls for a radical reduction in government spending, a hard-line stance against new taxes and a "sustained" battle against federal regulators - all aimed at easing the concerns of voters desperate for jobs and anxious about the soaring national debt.

...Because Republicans propose to exempt the Pentagon, veterans programs and homeland security from these cuts, liberal analysts said the reductions would decimate education funding, the National Park Service and other worthy programs."
Washington Post

And there you have it all wrapped up with a bow, right there in the last paragraph; the reason the Republicans are no different than the Democrats. They have their sacred cows and they won't touch 'em.

When I see a party, any party, that is willing to tackle the military, social programs and corporate welfare I'll start to think that maybe, just maybe we have a chance. That won't happen in my lifetime so it'll never happen because we'll collapse a whole lot sooner than that.

If we want to have any even slight chance of surviving the economic tsunami that's headed our way we need to slice the federal government in half, tell China and everyone else we owe money to sorry and bring the troops back home, from everywhere.

We need to get back inside our own walls, pull up the drawbridge and go it on our own. Withdraw from the world. Keep our nukes and other defensive weapons and tell the world that if they leave us alone we'll leave them alone. Touch us and we'll wipe you off the map. No diplomacy, no engagement, no compromise.

Take the money we save and use it to slowly withdraw every one from the government tit. All social programs will stop in five years. Social Security, Medicare ,AFDC, food stamps and everything else.

If we close our doors to imports and make do with what we can produce ourselves there'll be plenty of work for everyone.

I'm not saying that there's anything easy about this. Lots and lots of pain will be involved. But, do you think that pain is avoidable at this point? If we just go along as we have we will collapse, and rather shortly. And that will be far more painful than contracting under our own terms.

So don't look to Washington. Nobody there will do a thing.

Absent the country retreating you can do it yourself. Stop living as though the grocery store will always be stocked and the lights will always be on. Get to know your neighbors and start to plan for a return to life more as it was during the majority of human history. Our 21st century fantasy is about to come to an abrupt end.

Stock up on food and whatever else you consider vital. Within a very few months the prices may make a good deal of it unaffordable.

Refuse to live as the modern world demands and chart a new course for yourself and your family. Opt out of as much of it as possible. Prepare for what, just a few years ago, was unimaginable.

Nothing in Washington will change so the course we've set ourselves on will continue to lead us to destruction.

Pray for guidance, strength and courage because we'll need all three to get through what's just around the corner.

  1. We should at this point recall the conversation that Jesus and Pilate had at the Praetorium in Jerusalem. Nothing has changed in 2000 years. Some key points are these:

    (1) Jesus Kingdom is NOT of this world.
    (2) Pilate asked the perenial question that every politician asks, "Truth - what is Truth?", even while he was looking eternal Truth righ in the face.
    (3) The rabble no differently than today wanted released "Barabbas" which translated means "Son of the Father"; who was this father but that great Accuser which translated is "Satanos."
    (4) And what was Barabbas but a "revolutionary" who offered change and hope.

    John 18:33-40

So Pilate went back into the praetorium and summoned Jesus and said to him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "Do you say this on your own or have others told you about me?" Pilate answered, "I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me. What have you done?" Jesus answered, "My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom did belong to this world, my attendants (would) be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not here." So Pilate said to him, "Then you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice." Pilate said to him, "What is truth?" When he had said this, he again went out to the Jews and said to them, "I find no guilt in him. But you have a custom that I release one prisoner to you at Passover. Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?" They cried out again, "Not this one but Barabbas!" Now Barabbas was a revolutionary.

  2. Once again you've expressed what I'm thinking. The only way out of this is to follow Jesus. He is the true revolutionary. Following His path will take us peacefully through the coming storm.

The world will pin its hopes on the false messiahs and will be led to destruction. They'll believe in the government lies right to the end and then will be left out in the cold to die.

There will be NO political solution to this because the politicians have no solution. The troubles are coming and it will be through individuals working through their families and communities that we'll see the world reform into something that God wants. But we have to follow Him to accomplish this.

The politicians are in league with evil and will be used by Satan to misguide and confuse the people.

That's why I believe that it's absolutely vital that Gods people begin to retreat from the world, right now! We can't forget about the others or stop trying to get them to understand but the time is here that we have to start thinking about ourselves and our families. We have to untangle ourselves from the modern world so that we can see the truth when it is shown to us.

I feel this is the time to simplify in every part of your life. Get ready for the forced simplification that is coming so you're better able to handle it.

The time of grace we've been allowed is about to end; it may already have. All I can say is there is a real sense of urgency now that wasn't here a year ago.
