WE ARE IN TWO WARS - FULTON SHEEN

I wrote last week about perpetual war and wondered why we have been at war continuously since 1945. Archbishop sheen presents a compelling case for the cause in the videos below.

I've been trying to think of any wars that the Soviet Union has had direct troop involvement in since 1917. The only ones that come to mind are WWII and Afghanistan. WWII was a defensive war, one that Stalin tried to avoid by signing treaties with Germany. Afghanistan has long been a war zone for Russia, dating back to the 19th century.

Other than these two wars, Soviet involvement has been mostly limited to advisors and massive material support. And of course, they're always stirring the pot in the background, even today. In this same period, America has been dragged into war after war, even though the American people are isolationist by nature.

Today we find our military stretched incredibly thin, with more wars close on the horizon, especially in Iran. At the same time it seems as though someone is trying to light a fuse in our country, igniting a race war or union riots due to an economic collapse.

Are we nearing the final confrontation the Archbishop describes?
