THE NOOSE SLOWLY TIGHTENS

I don't know about you but around here there just isn't a whole bunch of work. As fuel prices rise I'll be forced to cut back further on any unnecessary expenses. I know that I'm not alone. So as the cost of fuel goes up, along with the cost of everything it touches, just how do the Pollyanna's in the financial industry intend to spin the inevitable collapse of consumer demand? How will the government distort the numbers to make it appear that all is well? And why will anyone believe any of this crap when their day to day experience tells them it isn't true?

Because we're self deluded fools wishing and hoping that all the bad stuff will just magically disappear. We're children that believe someone will come to save us. And someone just might. But along with salvation will come slavery.

How much will we trade for safety?

"Oil prices jumped above $83 a barrel Monday in Asia amid signs of strong Chinese demand for crude and a weakening U.S. dollar.
Benchmark crude for February delivery was up 80 cents to $83.55 a barrel at late afternoon Singapore time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. On Friday, the contract rose 9 cents to settle at $82.75."
