"Regulators improperly granted agricultural giant Monsanto permission to freely sell genetically engineered sugarbeets and seeds, a federal judge has ruled in a lawsuit that sprung from the Willamette Valley.
U.S. District Court Judge Jeffrey S. White on Monday agreed with arguments from Willamette Valley organic seed growers that wind-born pollen from the transgenic plants -- engineered to resist Roundup, a Monsanto herbicide -- could contaminate their crops."

WHO OWNS THE SEEDS?
I predict that with the nearly bottomless pit of money that Monsanto seems to have they will get this ruling overturned. Then, after their genetically altered seeds have pollinated the organic seed, they will sue the orgnic growers for use of Monsanto product without a liscense. Monsanto has been harrasssing farmers in Missouri in a similar fashion. Read about this in Organic Consumers and Vanity Fair.
