So, assuming that the economy doesn't implode, how could the government protect the dollar and honor its debt? Pay off the treasuries and basically abandon Social Security and Medicare here at home. There's no way we could ever honor the obligations to those two entitlements anyway so why not be honest and just cut them now? It would definitely give us some room to maneuver. Of course, I say why stop there? Return the government to the Constitutionally mandated limits that it is supposed to live in and a big part of our problems would disappear immediately. Sorry Mr. Obama, no healthcare for you.
