Keep in mind that you are reading the incoherent ramblings of a poorly educated carpenter but I just gotta say that the above headlines are the equivalent of catfish chum. The banks are using all of the money that we have given them to sweeten up the water and bring in the fish. Are your taste buds tingling yet? Do you want to take some of the money that you were able to get out of the markets after you got burned a few months back and get back in? Doesn't that chunk of chicken liver dangling there in front of you look tasty, just like you remember? I'll bet if you're real careful you could take just a bite or two without getting hooked.
There is no reason for a 10% jump in the Dow over the last few days. At least no reason that makes sense from the standpoint of a normal human being. The unemployment levels are creeping up to historic highs. Oh, I know, we're still below 10%. Really? I don't need numbers massaged by the government to tell me that at least in the St. Louis area it's one hell of a lot higher than that. What used to be rush hour now looks like a Sunday afternoon drive. The construction industry has all but shut down. I've never seen it this slow and I have been around it all of my 50 years. There is only one car factory still open (barely) in St. Louis. We used to be #2 in production, second only to Detroit. Fuel is cheap. The economy is so weak that even Goldman Sachs can't inflate the price. Nearly everyone I know is unemployed or underemployed. I've got time to sit here typing on the computer instead of grabbing my tools and heading out the door.
The American people are being toyed with and treated like suckers at the carnival sideshow. The bankers are trying to suck every last penny out of us by using our money to falsely inflate the market and draw us back in. When they get it to the point that it is about to collapse under the weight of this fiction they will set the hook, gut the people and fill their freezers for the long winter ahead.
In the words of the failed Governor of the bankrupt state of California, "Get out, get out NOW!!!"
