EVERYBODY'S GOT RIGHTS

This from My Way:

"House Democratic leaders, pledging to meet the president's goal of health care legislation before their August break, are offering a $1.5 trillion plan that for the first time would make health care a right and a responsibility for all Americans. Left to pick up most of the tab were medical providers, employers and the wealthy."

I just need to know, how can the government make anything a right? Can someone please answer this for me? Rights come from God, or the creator or whatever you feel most comfortable calling the prime mover. Governments are not capable of creating rights. They can only grant privileges. Our rights preexist this government and every other for that matter. The government only has power because we extend the use of our rights to it. To the extent that it has any power to control our rights, by granting privilege or removing it, that power has to be granted through our approval and can be rescinded by us at anytime. The government has no more power than we do and only as much power as we care to extend to it. The idea that government can create a right to healthcare, a right which we don't already possess through the natural law, is preposterous. Furthermore, after creating this right out of whole cloth the government believes it can then force upon us the burden of paying to support this so called right through the theft of our money, which they have no right to. We can't force our neighbor to pay for someone elses health care by forcefully taking their property. That is theft. If we can't do it, the government, because it does not possess any greater rights than we do, cannot do it either. IT VIOLATES THE NATURAL LAW!!! Until we start to understand our rights and the power and limitations of their exercise, especially as to their relationship to our government, we will not be able to convince our government to leave us alone.
