IMMIGRANT PROTESTS PLANNED FOR MAY DAY

"Protest organizers said on Wednesday outrage over the Arizona law -- which seeks to drive illegal immigrants out of the state bordering Mexico -- has galvanized Latinos and would translate into a higher turnout for May Day rallies in more than 70 U.S. cities.

"The marches and demonstrations are going to be far more massive than they otherwise would have been," said Juan Jose Gutierrez, a Los Angeles rally organizer who runs an immigration assistance company."

May Day. Why does that sound so familiar?

"Lubyanka Square was swamped in red. The countless silk, velvet and other banners, embroidered with sequins and glass beads were quite dazzling to the eye. One focus of attention was the metal workers vehicle, draped in red material and bearing a huge globe with a portrait of Marx on it.

The vehicles of the workers' collective were also striking. On one a band played, while the other was covered in greenery and flowers arranged in the shape of an arch.

Another wonderful spectacle was the Sokolniki District lorry, decked out from top to bottom in flowers. Invalids walked on crutches behind the maimed soldiers' lorry.

Next came the machine-gunners, on foot with their guns loaded onto horses. They were followed by the Alexandrovsky College Training School. A detachment of sailors, smartly dressed in black, marched past, followed by firemen and then a float displaying emblems of agricultural work. Children paraded past all holding little red flags. ... Detachment after detachment of the army of labour, the army of the Revolution....

Speeches were given and a series of meetings held on Skobelev Square in front of the Moscow Soviet. [This square, with the former Dresden Hotel, was decorated by a group of artists under A. I. Ivanov.] The column of the stage workers' trade union was particularly interesting; on the front lorry, beneath a poster reading 'Free Worker', representatives of the most important kinds of labour stood at their machines; on the second lorry was a band, and behind it an allegorical group depicting Russia heralding peace to all peoples.

There were performers in the costumes of all nationalities, a peasant woman with a sheaf of rye in her arms, boys holding rakes and sickles, and nearby the courageous figures of soldiers holding red banners. And above them all stood Russia with a palm sprig in her hands.

In front of the Moscow Soviet, the participants in these pictures sang the 'Internationale', the 'Marseillaise' and other revolutionary songs to the accompaniment of the band."

All last year we had Tea Party protests, culminating in over a million people in Washington D.C. on one day with no arrests. So, how do you think these coming demonstrations will compare? And I wonder, will we see men wearing the Roman collar in the middle of it?

MARXIST MANIPULATION ON PARADE

"Thousands of New Jersey high school students walked out of class Tuesday to protest budget cuts, a statewide event organized through text messages and social networking websites.

Students at Rancocas Valley High School in Burlington County left school just before 8 a.m. to show their support for teachers in light of Governor Chris Christie's proposed education cuts in the state budget.

...The NJEA says students are "engaging in civil disobedience" but shouldn't walk out of classes.

Governor Christie's office responded with the following statement: "First, students belong in the classroom, and we hope all efforts were made to curtail student walkouts. It is also our firm hope that the students were motivated by youthful rebellion or spring fever – and not by encouragement from any one-sided view of the current budget crisis in New Jersey. Students would be better served if they were given a full, impartial understanding of the problems that got us here in the first place and why dramatic action was needed."
CBS3

There is no way that these kids decided to walk out on their own, unless, of course, they saw this as a way to miss a few hours of class. This was organized by the union. Maybe not explicitly but I'd be willing to bet enough was said in the classroom to spark this.

For all the breathless reporting this isn't a story of righteous anger but a story of blatant manipulation of children. These kids don't have a stake in the fight. They don't pay taxes and, truth be told, really don't care how much their teachers earn or have any idea how to relate wages to real life.

Now, what would be a story is if these urchins were told that, to offset the additional taxation necessary to pay the wages and benefits of the union teachers, the kids would have to sacrifice their cell phones, i-pods and video game players, and they agreed. But, the fact of the matter is that if the kids had to foot the bill they'd sing a different tune. If they were faced with a decision like the ones their parents are faced with everyday, and had to balance the bloated salaries of teachers against paying for the necessities of life, this march would have been in favor of the governor's plan.

This is just another example of union and media manipulation of a story to suit a political agenda. It's a shame they are using kids to meet their ends.

The end justifies the means.

JUSTICE STEVENS TO RETIRE-WILL REPUBLICANS FIGHT FOR A DECENT REPLACEMENT?

"Justice John Paul Stevens, who came to embody the liberal voice on an increasingly conservative Supreme Court, announced Friday that he is retiring – giving President Barack Obama his second seat to fill on the nation’s high court."
Politico

No surprise here. Now, let's see what the Republicans are made of. Will they roll over for Obama's new appointment, saying, as they usually do, that, "The President has the right to make the appointment and it just wouldn't be right to stand in his way." Or will they, like the Democrats do time after time, fight the next appointment to the death if it doesn't meet the standards they claim to uphold.

My guess is that the spineless, bought and paid for, Progressive bastards will do the former. I hope I'm wrong.

LIFE UNDER HITLER-HISTORY GOES 'ROUND IN CIRCLES

1938 Austria -- Land of "The Sound of Music"
Story By: Kitty Werthmann (An Austrian who witnessed what took place under Hitler)

America Truly is the Greatest Country in the World. Don’t Let Freedom Slip Away

By: Kitty Werthmann (An Austrian who witnessed what took place under Hitler)

What I am about to tell you is something you’ve probably never heard or read in history books.

I am an eyewitness to history. I cannot tell you that Hitler took Austria by tanks and guns; it would distort history. We elected him by a landslide – 98% of the vote. I’ve never read that in any American publications. Everyone thinks that Hitler just rolled in with his tanks and took Austria by force.

In 1938, Austria was in deep Depression. Nearly one-third of our workforce was unemployed. We had 25% inflation and 25% bank loan interest rates.

Farmers and business people were declaring bankruptcy daily. Young people were going from house to house begging for food. Not that they didn’t want to work; there simply weren’t any jobs. My mother was a Christian woman and believed in helping people in need. Every day we cooked a big kettle of soup and baked bread to feed those poor, hungry people – about 30 daily.

The Communist Party and the National Socialist Party were fighting each other. Blocks and blocks of cities like Vienna , Linz , and Graz were destroyed. The people became desperate and petitioned the government to let them decide what kind of government they wanted.

We looked to our neighbor on the north, Germany , where Hitler had been in power since 1933. We had been told that they didn’t have unemployment or crime, and they had a high standard of living. Nothing was ever said about persecution of any group -- Jewish or otherwise. We were led to believe that everyone was happy. We wanted the same way of life in Austria . We were promised that a vote for Hitler would mean the end of unemployment and help for the family. Hitler also said that businesses would be assisted, and farmers would get their farms back. Ninety-eight percent of the population voted to annex Austria to Germany and have Hitler for our ruler.

We were overjoyed, and for three days we danced in the streets and had candlelight parades. The new government opened up big field kitchens and everyone was fed.

After the election, German officials were appointed, and like a miracle, we suddenly had law and order. Three or four weeks later, everyone was employed. The government made sure that a lot of work was created through the Public Work Service.

Hitler decided we should have equal rights for women. Before this, it was a custom that married Austrian women did not work outside the home. An able-bodied husband would be looked down on if he couldn’t support his family. Many women in the teaching profession were elated that they could retain the jobs they previously had been required to give up for marriage.

Hitler Targets Education – Eliminates Religious Instruction for Children:

Our education was nationalized. I attended a very good public school.. The population was predominantly Catholic, so we had religion in our schools. The day we elected Hitler (March 13, 1938), I walked into my schoolroom to find the crucifix replaced by Hitler’s picture hanging next to a Nazi flag. Our teacher, a very devout woman, stood up and told the class we wouldn’t pray or have religion anymore. Instead, we sang “Deutschland, Deutschland, Uber Alles,” and had physical education.

Sunday became National Youth Day with compulsory attendance. Parents were not pleased about the sudden change in curriculum. They were told that if they did not send us, they would receive a stiff letter of warning the first time. The second time they would be fined the equivalent of $300, and the third time they would be subject to jail. The first two hours consisted of political indoctrination. The rest of the day we had sports. As time went along, we loved it. Oh, we had so much fun and got our sports equipment free. We would go home and gleefully tell our parents about the wonderful time we had.

My mother was very unhappy. When the next term started, she took me out of public school and put me in a convent. I told her she couldn’t do that and she told me that someday when I grew up, I would be grateful. There was a very good curriculum, but hardly any fun – no sports, and no political indoctrination. I hated it at first but felt I could tolerate it. Every once in a while, on holidays, I went home. I would go back to my old friends and ask what was going on and what they were doing. Their loose lifestyle was very alarming to me. They lived without religion. By that time unwed mothers were glorified for having a baby for Hitler. It seemed strange to me that our society changed so suddenly. As time went along, I realized what a great deed my mother did so that I wasn’t exposed to that kind of humanistic philosophy.

Equal Rights Hits Home:

In 1939, the war started and a food bank was established. All food was rationed and could only be purchased using food stamps. At the same time, a full-employment law was passed which meant if you didn’t work, you didn’t get a ration card, and if you didn’t have a card, you starved to death. Women who stayed home to raise their families didn’t have any marketable skills and often had to take jobs more suited for men.

Soon after this, the draft was implemented. It was compulsory for young people, male and female, to give one year to the labor corps. During the day, the girls worked on the farms, and at night they returned to their barracks for military training just like the boys. They were trained to be anti-aircraft gunners and participated in the signal corps. After the labor corps, they were not discharged but were used in the front lines. When I go back to Austria to visit my family and friends, most of these women are emotional cripples because they just were not equipped to handle the horrors of combat. Three months before I turned 18, I was severely injured in an air raid attack. I nearly had a leg amputated, so I was spared having to go into the labor corps and into military service.

Hitler Restructured the Family Through Daycare:

When the mothers had to go out into the work force, the government immediately established child care centers. You could take your children ages 4 weeks to school age and leave them there around-the-clock, 7 days a week, under the total care of the government. The state raised a whole generation of children. There were no motherly women to take care of the children, just people highly trained in child psychology. By this time, no one talked about equal rights. We knew we had been had.

Health Care and Small Business Suffer Under Government Controls:

Before Hitler, we had very good medical care. Many American doctors trained at the University of Vienna .. After Hitler, health care was socialized, free for everyone. Doctors were salaried by the government. The problem was, since it was free, the people were going to the doctors for everything. When the good doctor arrived at his office at 8 a.m., 40 people were already waiting and, at the same time, the hospitals were full. If you needed elective surgery, you had to wait a year or two for your turn. There was no money for research as it was poured into socialized medicine. Research at the medical schools literally stopped, so the best doctors left Austria and emigrated to other countries.

As for healthcare, our tax rates went up to 80% of our income. Newlyweds immediately received a $1,000 loan from the government to establish a household. We had big programs for families. All day care and education were free. High schools were taken over by the government and college tuition was subsidized. Everyone was entitled to free handouts, such as food stamps, clothing, and housing.

We had another agency designed to monitor business. My brother-in-law owned a restaurant that had square tables. Government officials told him he had to replace them with round tables because people might bump themselves on the corners. Then they said he had to have additional bathroom facilities. It was just a small dairy business with a snack bar. He couldn’t meet all the demands. Soon, he went out of business. If the government owned the large businesses and not many small ones existed, it could be in control.

We had consumer protection. We were told how to shop and what to buy. Free enterprise was essentially abolished. We had a planning agency specially designed for farmers. The agents would go to the farms, count the live-stock, and then tell the farmers what to produce, and how to produce it.

“Mercy Killing” Redefined:

In 1944, I was a student teacher in a small village in the Alps . The villagers were surrounded by mountain passes which, in the winter, were closed off with snow, causing people to be isolated. So people intermarried and offspring were sometimes retarded. When I arrived, I was told there were 15 mentally retarded adults, but they were all useful and did good manual work. I knew one, named Vincent, very well. He was a janitor of the school. One day I looked out the window and saw Vincent and others getting into a van. I asked my superior where they were going. She said to an institution where the State Health Department would teach them a trade, and to read and write. The families were required to sign papers with a little clause that they could not visit for 6 months. They were told visits would interfere with the program and might cause homesickness.

As time passed, letters started to dribble back saying these people died a natural, merciful death. The villagers were not fooled. We suspected what was happening. Those people left in excellent physical health and all died within 6 months. We called this euthanasia.

The Final Steps - Gun Laws:

Next came gun registration. People were getting injured by guns. Hitler said that the real way to catch criminals (we still had a few) was by matching serial numbers on guns. Most citizens were law abiding and dutifully marched to the police station to register their firearms. Not long after-wards, the police said that it was best for everyone to turn in their guns. The authorities already knew who had them, so it was futile not to comply voluntarily.

No more freedom of speech. Anyone who said something against the government was taken away. We knew many people who were arrested, not only Jews, but also priests and ministers who spoke up.

Totalitarianism didn’t come quickly, it took 5 years from 1938 until 1943, to realize full dictatorship in Austria .. Had it happened overnight, my countrymen would have fought to the last breath. Instead, we had creeping gradualism. Now, our only weapons were broom handles. The whole idea sounds almost unbelievable that the state, little by little eroded our freedom.

After World War II, Russian troops occupied Austria . Women were raped, preteen to elderly. The press never wrote about this either. When the Soviets left in 1955, they took everything that they could, dismantling whole factories in the process. They sawed down whole orchards of fruit, and what they couldn’t destroy, they burned. We called it The Burned Earth. Most of the population barricaded themselves in their houses. Women hid in their cellars for 6 weeks as the troops mobilized. Those who couldn’t; paid the price. There is a monument in Vienna today, dedicated to those women who were massacred by the Russians. This is an eye witness account.

“It’s true….those of us who sailed past the Statue of Liberty came to a country of unbelievable freedom and opportunity.

GAME OVER-STUPAK ON BOARD

"House Democrats have picked up critical health reform “yes” votes from a group of anti-abortion lawmakers, including Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak, according to senior Democratic aides. Democrats believe a breakthrough with Stupak's group - based on the promise of an executive order to be issued by President Barack Obama reinforcing a ban on federal funding for abortion - will help give them the 216-vote majority needed to pass reform on Sunday."

GOVERNMENTS, UNIONS, THE GREEN MOVEMENT AND THE LOSS OF OUR LIBERTY

"Households that get their power from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power could see their electric bills go up between 8.8% and 28.4%, depending on where they live and how much energy they use, under a plan unveiled Monday by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Appearing with labor and environmental leaders, Villaraigosa said the proposed increases would ensure that the DWP meets his goal of securing 20% of its energy from renewable sources such as wind and solar by Dec. 31.

The increased revenue would help pay for new environmental initiatives, including more aggressive conservation programs and a solar initiative designed to create 16,000 jobs.

...Businesses would see increases in the average bill ranging from 20% to 26%. Any increase would become less steep, however, once ratepayers adopt conservation measures or find ways to install solar panels and sell the excess power to the DWP, mayoral aides said.

...One union leader said residents would support the increases once they knew how the money would be spent.

"When they see that there is a clear-cut plan to do what we need to do in this city -- which is to be more green, to create jobs -- then I think that most people . . . are willing to go along with that," said Maria Elena Durazo, executive secretary-treasurer of the L.A. County Federation of Labor."
LA Times

"Just look at Spain: According to a study released in 2009, for every “green job” created with government money over the last eight years 2.2 regular jobs were lost, and only 1 in 10 of the newly created green jobs became a permanent job."
Epoch Times

LA is going to institute a green plan with the backing of the unions and the environmentalists. It will cause electric bills to rise by as much as 28.4%, driving up the cost to both businesses and individual households. This will cause businesses to close or move and will cause people that would normally spend their money elsewhere, thus supporting other jobs, to spend it on electricity.

Why would the unions support this? It seems counterintuitive in that the affect of this legislation will be most keenly felt by the working people. Isn't that the group that the unions claim to support?

If we take the numbers from Spain, a country that has bought into the green argument, we find that for every green job created 2.2 traditional jobs are lost (Jaun DeMariana). I broke out the abacus and did the math; if LA's green initiatives creates 16,000 green jobs 35,200 traditional jobs will be lost. That is a net loss of 19,200 jobs.

So why would the unions back this? I've got a theory. Most of the green jobs will be created through the government; either directly in administration and enforcement or by mandates to the private sector. These jobs will either be created in union environments, such as the government, or will require adherence to the "prevailing wage", a code word for unions. The 19,000 plus jobs that will be lost in the private sector will be mostly non-union jobs.

This isn't about the environment. This is about union power and control. And "social justice".

In the name of "social justice" this union will destroy the livelihood of thousands. The end justifies the means. No sacrifice is too great to achieve the perfection of man through a Socialist Utopia. And the government, believing it can control this evil gets in bed with the enemy of the people that it claims to serve.

Our politicians don't serve us though, do they? They have used their power to establish their kingdoms. They have become Princes and Kings, raising walls of stone around the government of the people to protect their own power. The unions serve as their mercenary armies, repelling the desires of the people. In the end, this will be their undoing, for as Machiavelli warned:

"A PRINCE must defend his state with either his own subjects or mercenaries, or auxiliaries. Mercenaries are utterly untrustworthy; if their captain be not an able man the prince will probably be ruined, whereas if he be an able man he will be seeking a goal of his own. This has been perpetually exemplified among the cities and states of Italy which have sought to maintain themselves by taking foreigners into their pay."

The unions are working with the Communist/Progressives to create a "New World Order". Our politicians have worked with them because the unions have offered them support through campaign financing, buying their loyalty. The politicians have. like all addicts, become dependent on union money, unable to make independent decisions for fear that their drug of choice will be taken from them. The unions are now using public monies to achieve their ends. The good and the will of the people be damned. The mercenaries have removed the Prince from power and taken hold of the throne for themselves.

We've lost so many battles at the local level that we are about to lose the war at the national level. We need to flank our attackers and hit them in the rear. We need to take back our government, starting at the city, working up to the county and eventually the state.

The Tenth Amendment is the answer:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

We must reestablish our base of operation at the state level. If the states refuse to enforce any laws passed by the Federal Government unless they are expressly authorized in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution, the efforts of the Communist/Progressives will come to a standstill.

This is our best and maybe only way out short of war. We must crush the evil that we are confronted with, but without resorting to violence. We must exhaust all legal means within our powers. If war begins, all is lost and evil wins.

You have to make a choice. To do nothing is still a choice; a choice for Communism and slavery. If you love freedom get involved and fight. Call, mail, go to public demonstrations. Do something!

Years from now, God willing and we still live in a free country, do you want to tell your kids and grandkids that you sat it out, that you lived through maybe the single greatest turning point in American history and did nothing?

"...From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

WHY I'LL NEVER VOTE REPUBLICAN AGAIN

So, I'm listening to Fox and Friends this morning and they have Jonah Goldberg on. He's the editor of National Review online and author of "Liberal Fascism". He's also a frequent guest on Glenn Beck's show where he talks about the evils of Progressivism and government coercion of our lives. He is a Republican. You'd think he would get "it".

But, like most members of the Grand Old Party he has shown himself to be a clueless member of the Progressive Lite brigade. They're talking on the show this morning about Dominoes Pizza and how this company has admitted that their product sucks and they are going to make the changes necessary to bring their customers back. So the host asks Goldberg what changes the GOP needs to make to bring back its voters. Goldberg answers that the GOP needs to support changes to the tax code that will make it easier and less costly to have kids.

Really? What the GOP should do to attract conservatives is gerrymander the tax code to influence Americans to act a certain way? WTF!!??? I thought the party of personal freedom and smaller government would be opposed to any sort of government interference in our lives. I thought that it would work to reduce the taxes and the size of the federal Government. Instead, it would use the power of government to coerce. If that isn't the definition of Socialism I don't know what is.

This is why I will never vote Republican again. I don't care how good the candidate sounds. If elected inside the party structure this sort of backdoor Progressivism is what will be expected of him and forced upon his constituents through  Republican party politics. The Republicans and Democrats have both forgotten to read the Constitution and don't have a clue how to reduce government in our lives. Both intend to use government to control us and increase their own power. A POX ON BOTH THEIR HOUSES!!!

Americans need to realize that if we want our country back we have to break the backs of the parties. The only way to do this is to refuse to give them power. Vote third party! Don't listen to the same tired reasons why this is dangerous to the country. It cannot possibly cause more damage than the current parties have!

We will either destroy this Leviathan with the ballot box or the gun. We must make a real effort to do it peacefully. To make the gun legitimate we have to exhaust every other possibility. We don't want to use our guns. Nothing good will come from it. But, our government needs to understand the possibility exists and that we have recourse to it. We need to make it afraid to gain control. It needs to fear the ballot box, knowing the gun rests behind it.
